Tsunami Debris Invasion

We mentioned yesterday that Senator Lisa Murkowski is planning a fly-over of the Gulf of Alaska and Prince William Sound for a firsthand view of debris washing onto Alaska shores. The debris believed to be from last years Japanese Tsunami. A growing concern is that the debris represent a new way for all sorts of invasive species to make their way onto our shores. Scientists say extinctions happen because of invasions and invaders could be tagging along with the debris. It’s another consequence that experts are keeping a watchful eye on.
